of marshmallows and punk bands

Oh look. It's me and my fearless Charis sister. We're in black and white because it's the coolest. Okay, okay, so maybe it's because the white balance was on cloudy and the kitchen wasn't cloudy that day. Anyway! We were having fun since we were FINALLY able to get our schedules synced to let us make little marshmallow men. (Back when I was a young'un of 6, I didn't have a schedule except do school, climb trees, eat cookies and go to bed.)
Here are the things. Ta-Da!! The more we looked at them the more we thought they looked like a punk boys band, and since they all have three little pretzel legs we named them the Tripods. Isn't that SO COOL?! They're coming to a kitchen near you.

Once more, my sweet sister who must've had something in her mouth or else she'd be showing off her amazing toothless grin.
I love you, Charis!

Fall in Virginia!

I love photographing life as it happens and I think the best practice for that comes with my own family. Here we were, raking leaves (and MY, we had the leaves this year...) and everyone was so cute and the light was so pretty that I just *had* to take some pictures. Yep. :)
Why hello there, cutie patootie!

Mom plays with her two littlest kids... Annie and Nathaniel.

My, Annika - that leaf on your head is making such an amazing fashion statement!

I have the cutest siblings.

Life is beautiful.

Sometimes I feel like a poet.

Like... when I take a picture and it says everything I want to be said, and gives me this funny happy feeling way deep down inside.

Wow, I just LOVE this picture from Caleb and Lauren's wedding!! I think it sums up the simplicity and beauty of their day. Sigh. I like it when me and my camera come up with things like this.

Lauren, San Antonio

Nice sneakers... :)

Lauren has been my friend since way back when I was 15 and she was 13. It's such an amazing privilege to be able to photograph weddings for my friends - not only to be there and participate in the celebration, but also to skip around shooting pretty pictures of it. Yep. Although when you get married outside in Texas in August, there's a little less skipping from the photographer. ;)

Coming soon: Lauren and Caleb SLIDESHOW! Woohoo! I'm excited.

Little Annika

My sweet little sister Annika loves to play on my bed with my stuffed animals (Bunny, Monkey and Bear) and I love to look back while I'm editing and see her little cheery grin. Man, isn't she the cutest??

My best friend...

Kara. Girly Q, Baby Cakity Cake, Scooby... lots of nicknames for my next younger sister... she's my favorite traveling buddy, she laughs (most of the time) at my jokes, and gives AMAZING pedicures. She's incredible, hilarious and really good at kick-boxing ;) and I love her SO MUCH.

wedded bliss

I took pictures for my friends Josh and Andri at their Minneapolis wedding in June... what a beautiful, wonderful day! Andri arranged to see Josh for the first time at this pretty gazebo by the lake... I thought it was a lovely spot. :)

The following are just a few more from the day - I hope you enjoy them!

One of my friends saw this picture and asked "is there a wedding makeup music app?" :P

Andri has a fabulous sense of style, and these pink shoes quite describe her personality!

I love weddings - they're the beginnings of "happily ever after" and I can't even describe how great it is to capture those moments...

pretty pictures

I am alive! Even though the blogsphere hasn't heard from me in a few months, I am still living. :) Finishing school, prepping for a move, traveling the globe and being a big sister makes life a little busy... But yes. I'm back. Ready to play show and tell!

How have you all been?

Nothin' but blue skies...

School is nearing completion (ahahaha - YES!), family gatherings are being planned, God's mercies are new everyday, and new jobs keep popping up just like... daisies. My life has been filled with one happy little something after another, lately, and I am so grateful. So! :)

oh yeah!

This wedding was my most favorite ever.

Of course, the latest one usually is.... but it's because I'm constantly learning new things and pushing myself to reach new personal bests! I love to try to amaze myself. :P

Check this out:

random, but cute!

Annika Faith is almost 9 months old now, and helps us keep the kitchen floor clean. :) Hehe - only joking... I think we do sweep and mop quite a bit more often though, now that she's mobile!

Savannah and me: the sickly children. We got to wear these most excellent masks at a Christmas party.

A beautiful girl: Abby Hope
I got to take sr. pictures for Abby last fall, what an enjoyable experience! And I liked this one a lot, so I thought I would post it!

A beautiful woman: Sarah Edwards.
Definitely a friend to keep for a good long time.

Told you it was a random post... but I just had the itch to blog, and a few pictures to share... so I combined them. Whoohoo!

Until the next post, I remain, yours faithfully,
Abigail :)

time cherished::

While house sitting this month, I got to pretend I owned a great black lab named Macy... on nice days (i.e. when it was above 10 degrees F) we would go on walks, or run around in the back fields... and this time I brought along Charis and Nathaniel to enjoy the 30* day!
Nathaniel got a little tired, good thing big sis doesn't mind carrying him, right? Charis took this picture of us... :)

Oh, they're cute.

One last photo of happiness.
The moon rise was really pretty...

And it was a great time - just thought I would share some pictures! :)
